Relationship Between Health-Related Behaviors and Oral Symptoms in Adolescents

Abstract

|
Objectives: By analyzing adolescent health behavior and the relationship between health-related behaviors and oral symptoms, we aim to provide an integrated program to improve the oral health of adolescents.
Methods: Data from the 18th (2022) youth health behavior online survey was used. Cross-sectional analysis and logistic regression analysis were conducted to analyze the relationship between adolescents' health-related behaviors and oral cavity space.
Results: Factors affecting oral symptoms were 1.363 times higher in men and 0.956 times lower in middle school students. The academic performance of ‘low’ was 1.020 times higher, and the economic status of ‘low’ was significantly 1.315 times higher.
Conclusions: Based on these research results, it was reviewed that in order to improve the oral health of adolescents, it was necessary to develop and educate an oral health education program on the need for scaling, dietary control, how to use oral hygiene products correctly, and the relationship between stress and oral disease.
